Maclear Accommodation near Naude's Nek Pass in the Eastern Cape
We are a family-run business offering excellent service and warm hospitality.
Tortoni is also a working farm and most days you will find Ernst on his John Deere tractor planting or harvesting soya beans and maize.
The main sandstone house was built in 1889. The milk shed / dairy was converted into a cottage in 1994.
The area is reminiscent of the rolling hills of Scotland with over 1000 km of pristine water courses and is well-known for Rainbow trout. The farm has numerous dams with an abundance of birdlife. There are a resident pair of Fish Eagles, large flocks of Crowned Cranes, Giant Heron and Secretary Birds to mention only a few. A Rufus Bellied Heron has been sited and photographed at our Caravan Park (22July 2016).
There must be something in the water on this farm as 2014 saw the birth of twins Reese and Jeremy-Conrad and in 2016 twin Bonsmara calves and numerous twin lambs were born.
